We Are Never Alone

Some of my earliest memories include gospel music. My mother was astounded at how far back my memory goes. She told me that many of the things I asked her about I was only 18 months old. Be that as it may, I have pleasant memories of brush arbor camp meetings where hymns were song for hours and a minister delivered soul stirring messages. One of my fondest youthful memories revolves around a quartet singing "Where He Leads I'll Follow".

At a tender age I learned of the love of God and the sacrifice Jesus paid on Calvary's cross. I not only loved the music, but I got the message that God loved me, and Jesus paid for my salvation from a devil's hell. The final words of Jesus have resounded down through the ages from days of old. Just before He ascended in the clouds, Jesus said,

                             ". . . Lo, I am with you always. . ." Matthew 28:20 (NKJV).

One of the first references made to God's unfailing presence was spoken long ago by Moses. After having given a speech of encouragement to the Israelites, Moses concluded with:

"He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you, nor forsake you, do not fear nor be dismayed." Deut. 31:8 (NKJV).

Later as leadership passed from Moses, Joshua heard these reassuring words from Jehovah God:

". . . as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not

leave you nor forsake you." Joshua 1:5 (NKJV).

Today we are living in perilous times. The daily news reflects Jesus' warning about nation rising against nation, and rumors of wars, Matthew 24: 6, 7 (NKJV). Where ever you are today, you are not alone. If you have placed your trust in Jesus for your eternal salvation, then, as the church is led to safety by His Eye, Psalms 32:8 (KJV), you will be safe as He leads the church home, which is the Body of Christ. Ephesians 1:22,23 (NKJV). In the days of Noah, he preached 120 years of coming destruction. All were urged to enter the ark, a type of the church. I Peter 3:18-21. Those who heeded, and entered, were saved, those who did not were lost in the flood as God had told Noah. Since Pentecost God adds people to the church as they are saved. Acts 2:47 (NKJV), of which the Ark is a type. As Jesus ascended into heaven He repeated a promise which had been heard so many times before through out the centuries: ". . . and lo, I am with you always . . ." Matthew 28:20 (NKJV).

Praise God, we are never alone!
