JEHOVAH GOD BOTH REWARDS AND PUNISHES

If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves,

and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven,

and will forgive their sins and heal their land”. II Chron. 7:14 (NKJV).

God is a consuming fire                     He lays us down in green pastures

The wrath of God and the love of God are two sides of a coin.

God created heaven filled with legions of angels who were created to adore and worship Him continually. But one day the Sovereign of the universe decided He wanted someone to worship and adore Him because they chose to. Therefore, He created the earth and placed on it a Garden called Eden. In that Garden God created a man and a woman and gave them free will to worship him by choice.

Adam and Eve chose to eat of the forbidden against God’s will and were banished from the Garden. Over the centuries God dealt with His people lovingly, but sternly as He was putting in place His Scheme of Redemption.

Among many things there was a flood to destroy a rebellious planet. There was the Tower of Babel where God caused the people to be unable to work together by confusing their language with many dialects, causing the people to disperse. Due to a famine the Israelites ended up in Egypt for over 400 years.

From here God used Moses to lead them out, but because of the peoples grumbling and gripping, they wondered in the wilderness for 40 years, instead of entering the Promised Land in only a few weeks. Stubbornly, the Jews break God’s laws and are punished with 70 years of exile in Babylonia.

Although God’s anger is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29 NKJV), He is gracious and forgiving. The mercies of God to sinners are made known in a manner well suited to impress all who receive His Son. (Acts 16:31 NKJV). Any nation fairs better when His people is allowed worship and praise God. It is only by God’s mercies in restraining of His fiery wrath that America has not been consumed by way of attack from a superior force, for which we should be very thankful. I submit that 9-11-2001, was only a sample of Jehovah God’s potential consuming wrath.

It is only by the grace of God that America prospered and was a military giant able to keep our enemies away. If only God’s people and our leaders will take a stand for that which is right; i.e., abide by our Constitution, leaving our freedoms in place, freedom of worship, of speech, of the press, right to keep and bear arms. In addition do not change marriage, leaving it as God made it – between one man and one woman and protect the unborn.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”. Psalms 33:12. (NKJV) Truly, Jehovah God was truly America’s God for most of 200 years. The ACLU and other anti-constitutional forces have been working hard to change this.

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people”. Proverbs 14:34 (NKJV) No nation lives in perfection. However, to legalize the killing of unborn babies and corrupting marriage from the way God designed it in the Garden of Eden is irreconcilable. The home, marriage and religion were each designed by Jehovah God Himself, being included in the “unalienable rights” declared in the U.S. Declaration of Independence, therefore hands-off by the government.

Each American, each Christian should devoutly pray for America’s return to the thinking of our Founding Fathers. Let us fear the Lord’s displeasure, pray for His mercy and walk in the teachings of His beloved son.
