Happy Father's Day!

God, the Father, is the perfect example for all earthly fathers. He is holy, just and fair, but His most outstanding quality is love:

"He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." I John 4:8 (NKJV)

God's love motivates everything He does. A human life time is not long enough to learn all there is to know about God, but the Holy Bible is the best place to start.

In the beginning - God created the universe and all that is in it. God created the first two humans, a man and a woman, who became the first parents. Conceivably, God could have created humans to be self-reproductive, same as He did the Omeba. But, He chose that there be  a mother and a father.

Children are given to us, not simply to be enjoyed and caressed, but to be educated – both for this life and the Life to Come. Children come into the world with foolishness bound up in their heart, which is to be driven from them with correction. Proverbs 22:15 (NKJV).

"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward." Proverbs 127:3

A father is given the responsibility of encouraging and directing his children.

"Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,

So are children in one's youth.

Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. . . "

Psalms 127:4-5a

As a warrior aims and directs his arrows to its target, so does a father with his children, pointing them onto the correct path for their lives, pointing them the way toward the target with the needed boost for the journey.

The PRESBYTERIAN relates this story: once the three eldest of the five Niemoeller boys came to their mother. When she smilingly inquired the meaning of the delegation, their elected spokesman said, "Mother, the three of us have decided to go into the Christian ministry, we  admire our Father so much."

It is my prayer that every father will so live and be so blessed that his sons want to be just like him!
